The ceremony officially launched the 16th installment of The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) which will be held from 23 to 27 May 2023 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), Langkawi, MALAYSIA.
YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Sri Khairul Adib; Chairman, Alpine Integrated Solution (AIS) accompanied YB Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan; Minister of Defence and YB Loke; Minister of Transport inaugurated the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
The premier event of its kind in the world, LIMA brings together exhibitors, embassy, senior government officials, top military officials, and industry leaders from the commercial and defence sectors around the world.
LIMA is exhibiting 600 of 30 nations companies from Defence/Security and Commercial sectors. Up to 20 international pavilions from the US, China, UK, France, UAE, Indonesia, Thailand, Italy, Türkiye, Brazil, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Czech Republic and others. The 20,000 sqm MIEC space venue will be utilised indoor and outdoor with 110 of aircraft and 110 of ships/vessels, expecting 45,000 trade visitors, more than 250,000 public visitors and more than 400 VVIPs comprising Ministers of Defence and Ministers of Transport, Senior Officer and Service Chiefs from 59 countries.
Apart from exhibitions, forums and conferences, LIMA 2023 will also organize various activities such as drone races, flight simulators, technology talks and career fairs for visitors and enthusiasts of the maritime industry and aerospace technology. This event is a platform for local industry players to network for business development.

The Royal Malaysian Navy is set to showcase practically an entire fleet of a whopping number of 18 ships – KD Mahawangsa, KD Lekiu, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, KD Perak, KD Gagah Samudera, KD Keris, KD Mahamiru, KD Todak, KD Teguh Samudera, KD Selangor, KD Sri Indera Sakti, KD Laksamana Hang Nadim, KD Terengganu, KD Lekir, KD Rencong, KD Serang, and KD Perkasa as well as the MV Mega Bakti.
Malaysia will also be making a bigger splash at LIMA 2023 where the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) will be bringing its patrol vessels – KM Pekan, KM Bagan Datuk, KM Arau, KM Perwira, and KM Marlin, the Marine Department Malaysia (JLM) are bringing in its vessels the MV Polaris and MV Discovery, while the Royal Malaysia Police will be bringing its PT2 ship.

Visitors to the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) exhibition will get to stand witness to one of the most anticipated events at LIMA, the Air Show!
Featuring the incredible flying skills of the five aerobatic teams – Republic of Korea’s Black Eagles (T50), The Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force’s August 1st (J-10), the Russian Air Force’s Russian Knights (Su-30SM), the United Arab Emirates Air Force’s Fursan Al Emarat (MB 339), and the Indonesian Air Force’s Jupiter Aerobatic Team (KT-1B)!

Aviation enthusiasts can also feast their eyes on the many aircraft that will be on static display throughout LIMA! Visitors will get a chance to get up close to a fighter jet with Thailand’s F-5 fighter jet where it will be joined by United States and its fleet of aircrafts – Boeing P-8 Poseidon, Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker, C-37 Gulfstream, Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules, and Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk, and the Russian Knights’ Ilyushin Il-76.
Expect to see aircrafts such as the Lockheed CP-140 Aurora from the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), Republic of Korea Air Force’s (RKAF) Piaggio P.180 Avanti, the Boeing AH-64 Apache and Boeing CH-47 Chinook from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), as well as the Russian Knights’ Ilyushin Il-76.
The commercial segment of LIMA has grown exponentially since it was introduced in 2019. So, be sure to catch commercial aircrafts such as the E195-E2 Embraer commercial jet, Diamond’s DA-62 twin-engine light aircraft, the Dassault Falcon 7X business jet, the HAL Light Utility Helicopter (HUL), and the Airbus A220-300.
